Anton J. Gunn is a well-respected speaker who has inspired audiences both domestically and internationally.
He is recognized as one of the top under-40 leaders in America. His career spans more than a decade of doing grassroots focused community-driven social, educational and political work. From beginning his career as an ex-college football player turned community organizer. Anton Gunn has used his skills and experience to become one of the strongest voices for change in America.
Anton is a seasoned professional who bring a solid understanding of practical methodologies for youth engagement and development. Anton uses his talent with personal experience of being an active leader in youth culture and youth development. His goal is to help audiences cope with the challenges of reaching and affecting positive change in young people. Whether school focused or community institution focused, his expertise assists organizations to be more enlightened, productive and successful.
In addition to this work, Anton has worked also in the areas of health care, economic development and politics. He has assisted businesses, local government, state leaders, current and former governors of 3 states and even President Barack Obama. In 2007, then Senator Barack Obama asked Anton to serve as the Political Director of his South Carolina campaign. Anton was instrumental in developing the strategy that secured Obama’s early primary victory that propelled him to the White House.
Anton has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, The State Newspaper and Time Magazine. He also has appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America, CNN’s The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and the CBS Evening News. In 2009, Anton was also the focus of a 60 Minutes style international news documentary produced by the Japan Broadcasting Corporation (also know as NHK).
In addition to being a speaker, trainer and consultant, Anton is also a public servant. On November 4, 2008, He was elected to serve in the South Carolina House of Representatives from District 79. Anton is the first African American in history to represent his district.
