As we prepare to bring another school year to a close, we would like to thank all of our principals and facilitators for one of the most successful years in the history of our programs. It is because of your commitment and diligent efforts that our participants improved in attendance, academic achievement and behavior. Many of our participants took the time to share personal stories that highlighted experiences they had in their schools or on GC/LC outings that impacted their lives’ in a positive way. This has been a year of accomplishment in many forms and we are excited about the possibilities our students now have as a result of careful planning and skillful execution on their behalf.

We wish each and every one of you a great school closing and a summer full of fun and quality time with your families.

GC Quarterly Newsletter – Summer 2010

Welcome back to another year of milestones and opportunities! The Gentlemen’s Club is entering its’ 14th year and according to participants, parents, principals, teachers, and facilitators, GC is making a major (positive) impact on school attendance, student behavior and academic achievement.
The 2009-2010 school year presented all of us with major challenges with school budget cuts, staff reductions and more. In spite of it all, we were able to make positive change happen with groups of students all over the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

We celebrate all of our seniors who reached the milestone of high school graduation and are now eagerly awaiting their first day of college, work or military duty. Their efforts and accomplishments are truly a manifestation of your dedication to a group of students whose hard-ships are common, but celebrations few and far between. Through each of you, they saw another way out of their struggles. You restored HOPE to many of our participants and hopefully, stand ready as we enter this 2010-2011 school year to continue to do the same.

Our theme for this year is COMPASSIONATE INTERVENTION as we focus on using education as the primary vehicle for SUCCESS! As we continue to see positive changes in our students and their circle of influence widens in our schools, we must expand to involve more students and in doing so, provide more opportunities for them to be exposed to the possibilities that life offers.

On behalf of The Peters Group, we thank you for all that you’ve done, all that you are doing, and more importantly, all that you will continue to do to Capture, Inspire, and Teach!
